Ok this trooper was put in the situation because this person chose to run and not obey the law; I'm getting tired of these videos being released when they are very one sided; our troopers work hard trying to uphold the law; we can't keep dissecting their every little move; they have to react quickly to many situations and we can't second guess their actions even from a video without the whole facts.

Ok, I"m not sure we're looking at the same video, maybe you were to focus one the guy running. I saw a trooper driving thru a apartment complex and playground. What happen to old school foot chase. I don't if anyone of you have children, but that is unacceptable behavior for a professional. Thank god no children were killed. Would you defend that to???

I think they'll defend anything. I guess they didn't see people in this video trying to avoid a car. That is extremely dangerous. The good thing is that the majority of officers do the right thing. A problem we have is that the ones that do the wrong things are for some reason defended as if they are bestowed with the right to wreak havoc on people with human rights. It's sad to say that it will take an act of God for these stupid "defenders" of these officers to catch a clue.

I see that there is another video of a SC Trooper hitting another person with his car, but at least he wasn't driving through an apartment complex. Here's an idea, less time at the doughnut shop and more time at the gym! Also when I say this video it angered me that this would probably be alright is the video was not obtained, except if he was to hit a child or old person than it would be an outrage, if he hit a white child or elderly person he might even lose his job.

While some of these citizens are very harsh when it comes to the trooper, I wonder why they did not care to make any comments concerning this obvious lawbreaker? What if he had a weapon with him as he was running, as he had in the past? What would these fine citizens say then? If we take away the troopers job, perhaps we should take away this habitual thug's kids and rights. Jail obviosly didn't cure him of anything before...

Shameful behavior for a person that has sworn to protect the citizens of this state. If the trooper didn't think that he could keep up with the young man then maybe, just maybe, he should consider a new line of work. I realize that law enforcement is faced with danger and disrespect every day, but you can't force respect. You have to earn it. Most officers have my upmost respect but I'm afraid this officer fell short.

There sure is one way to stop this kind of stupidity is to give our officers who are trying to protect us law abiding citizens to stop their car tell the suspect one time to stop and if they don't then shoot them. This will be a first class deterent from this kind of chase happening again at least with that suspect! Now I call for all law abiding citizens to back our officers who put their lives on the line for us each day and to HELL with the criminals.

The young man running away is truly wrong in evading the police, however, if the did not kill, rape, or harm anyone than this chase was truly over the top. The energy or lack there of leaves me to ask this question. Why did he not do a foot chase? What is the message the officer is trying to convey? This beyond racism this is an officer either to lazy to get out of his vehicle and chase the suspect or this is an officer trying to intimadate the neighborhood? But it truly isn't about capturing the suspect.

an innocent child or anyone could have darted out from around the corner and be seriously injured or killed. This would never have happened in a more affluent neighborhood, or place where whites lived. This officer only will do what is o.k. with the administration.

This is a duplicate of my post on the other video. We do need more information to know what was going on. It would be legitimate (although unusual) for a police officer to intentionally strike someone with his patrol car *IF* it was legitimate for him to use deadly force (duty weapon) to stop a fleeing felon. Let's get the facts before praising him or criticizing him.

Come on people. Are our officers to lazy to get out of there car? Why would you think that it is ok for him to put other people in danger? Did you not see the man and his child run to get out of the way?

It is fair to say the officer should have leg belled with him. As stated by other this idiot made the decision to run and he obviously got what he needed. It is not the Doughnut shop that they need to stay out of it the fact that parents as I have seen use cops to threaten there children and in the end run you get idiots like this kid whom run cause they feel threatened. The Suspect in this should be charged for endangering the public by running.

okay I already made a post then I watched it again... Okay did anyone notice that this cop was riding thru apt/townhouses complexs, where there could have been people outside just sitting in their yard. or OPPPPS perhaps he ran right into a park... I am so happy that this did end up with a minor brush........ So they say. But you think about it twice.
